Marketing & PR
Imagine a fantasy vacation if your passion is singing – you get to travel to cities all over the world, train with a world-class conductor and then perform with a full orchestra backing you. Berkshire Choral chose Portland as their year’s destination because of its’ thriving choral scene (who knew?) and the appeal as a vacation destination. Bunking up for a week at PSU, singers trained under Karen Thomas, Artistic Director and Conductor of Seattle Pro Musica. 129 adult amateur singers from around the world performed Purcell’s “Dido & Aeneas” and Mozart’s “Vesperae solennes de confessore” with the Rose City Orchestra in accompaniment, at Trinity Cathedral.
LHK dug in to find the arts & singing enthusiasts, marketing the event to other performance groups around the city, getting featured in music newsletters and blogs, and securing local Arts press features. Enjoy the Oregonian slideshow.
